Hirashima (平島) (~80-120)

This is an old Hirashima from Nagasaki Prefecture in Japan that has been sleeping in a warehouse since the 1980s.
Hirashima ceased mining at a very early stage compared to Omura, so the remaining pieces are extremely rare.
Due to its large sword size, it has become a grinding stone that is almost impossible to obtain now.

Usage: Shaping deep red rust and significant blade damage. As the first process after
forging a blade, it is used to shape the blade's contour and remove black spots.

I purchased it cause I wanted a Whetstone that is coarser than my Omura
and closer in grit to my belt sander belts of 36 grit that I use to make new blades.
